About Anthony Sawlbury

Exercise to Music Certified |Level 3 Personal Trainer| BA Hons in Performing Arts Dance

Anthony Sawlbury grew up in a small town called Atherton in Greater Manchester. He was first introduced to dance while studying at Fred Longworth High School. After leaving high school Anthony went on to study a BTEC National Performing Arts Acting at Pendleton College in Salford. While studying there Anthony performed in two 'On The Green' productions performing at The Manchester Palace Theatre, taking the role of Dance Captain. Anthony also performed in two Live Nation Stage experiences 'Oliver' and 'Guys and Dolls' as a dancer and ensemble member. His credits at Pendleton College consist of:

  • Bless Em All - Ensemble (Dance Captain)

  • Romeo and Juliet - Messenger

  • Oklahoma - Junior and Ensemble (Dance Captain)

  • Hollywood Legends - Ensemble (Dance Captain)

  • The Things we Do for Love - Dance Captain

Anthony then went on to train at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) studying for a BA Honours in Performing Arts Dance.  While training Anthony found a love for choreography and teaching as well as performing. His credits at LIPA are:

  • Wham the Musical - Ensemble

  • Chess - Emsemble

  • Circus of Science - Dancer

  • Unity - Dancer and Choreographer

  • Breaking Boundaries - Dancer

  • After Leap - Dancer

  • Under the Bench - Dancer/Singer/Choreographer
     

Outside of Lipa Anthony choreographed and performed on a Channel 5 show Britian's Worst Hairdresser and he also performed with Scouse Productions as a dancer in Madonna and Me. He also taught beginners contemporary for a weekend performing arts school for children called Liverpool Wac. After graduating Anthony rejoined the cast of Madonna and Me and had a run for 3 weeks at the Liverpool Actors Studio. Anthony also set up a street dance class for primary school children in his home village of Atherton. In the spring of 2009 after graduating Anthony was offered a role at Disneyland Paris. As well as being a performing in the Parade Anthony became a show character and performed in three shows, The New Generation, Mickey's Winter Wonderland and Follow the Leader with Peter Pan. While at Disney he learnt a new skill of Ice Skating , both as himself and in costume. He played many characters and enjoyed himself very much. In 2012 Anthony returned to the UK and is now working with a Performing Arts company called Platform 2 providing children in North Devon acting and dance lessons. Anthony taught at Stagecoach Theatre arts in Barnstaple and now also teaches at Stagecoach Theatre Arts Bude. In 2015 Anthony choreographed Legally Blonde the Musical for Atlantic Coast Theatre as well as starring in the musical itself. Most recently Anthony was a film extra in the film 'Guernsey'.

Anthony can dance teach and choreograph many styles of dance these include:-  Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Street, Salsa and Contemporary.

As if that weren't enough strings to his bow, Anthony is now a fully qualified  Level 3 Personal Trainer.
